Dear Member of Parliament,

I am calling on you to support stronger European Union action to secure the safe and voluntary repatriation of Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh back to Myanmar. More than one million people remain displaced as a direct consequence of ethnic cleansing, facing poor living conditions and ongoing threats to their dignity and identity.

The EU’s commitment to human rights places it in a unique position to influence Myanmar’s compliance with international law through political pressure, human rights dialogues, and economic leverage. However, without robust political intervention, the cycle of displacement will continue.

I urge you to:

  • Table motions in the European Parliament stressing the urgency of Rohingya repatriation under safe and monitored conditions.

  • Push for targeted sanctions against individuals and entities complicit in ethnic cleansing.

  • Allocate more EU humanitarian aid funds for camp infrastructure and reintegration programmes once return is possible.

  • Engage with ASEAN partners to ensure Myanmar’s authorities respect international human rights obligations.

This is a critical moment where EU leadership could help end one of the worst humanitarian tragedies of our time.

Sincerely,

Supporter Voices
