Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Rohingya are an ethnic Muslim minority from Myanmar’s Rakhine State. For decades, they have faced systemic discrimination, denial of citizenship, and repeated waves of violence, forcing many to flee to refugee camps in Bangladesh and other countries.

Rohingya Return is an advocacy movement co-founded by Mirza Mueen and Ajas Khan. Our mission is to secure the safe repatriation, full citizenship, justice, and dignity of the Rohingya people while raising global awareness and mobilizing humanitarian support.

Currently, conditions in Myanmar remain unsafe due to systemic persecution, lack of citizenship rights, and ongoing instability. A dignified return requires citizenship, safety guarantees, property restoration, freedom of movement, and justice for past atrocities. Without these safeguards, repatriation would only risk further harm.

Our campaign is centered around six demands:

  • Return to Rakhine with dignity
  • Full Myanmar citizenship
  • Global awareness and action
  • Humanitarian support for refugees
  • Justice and reparations
  • Education and community empowerment

Petitions are a powerful tool for showing global solidarity. By signing, you help us put pressure on governments, international organizations, and policymakers to act on behalf of the Rohingya people. Each signature adds weight to our call for justice and repatriation.

You can support by:

  • Signing and sharing our petitions
  • Participating in online advocacy campaigns
  • Donating to humanitarian efforts
  • Following and sharing our updates on social media
  • Partnering with us as an organization or volunteer

No. Rohingya Return is a humanitarian and human rights advocacy initiative. We do not represent or align with any political party. Our sole purpose is to amplify the voices of the Rohingya and advocate for justice, dignity, and peace.

According to UNHCR, nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees live in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, which is the world’s largest refugee settlement. Thousands more live in countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and India.

The campaign was co-founded by Mirza Mueen, a digital journalist and PR expert from the UK, and Ajas Khan, a Rohingya refugee advocate from Cox’s Bazar. Together, they lead a volunteer-driven movement with over 15 dedicated team members.

We actively welcome partnerships with NGOs, human rights organizations, faith groups, academic institutions, and grassroots networks. Interested organizations can reach out through our Contact Us page or apply via our Partnershipssection.
